Michiel Teijgeler (a.k.a. MT-Yidaki) started playing didgeridoo in 1993. Since then he has developed a unique, personal sound, which he describes as 'Ethno-Techno.' Michiel is well known for his strong and groovin' style of playing. His musical journey takes him all around the globe. In 2003 he traveled for the first time to Australia and spent two weeks in a aboriginal community in Arnhem Land.
Currently Michiel plays with the very talented and popular 3ple-D.
Michiel's most recognisable signature piece is playing intricate patterns whilst breathing on the first trumpet sound, or toot!
Over the past few years, Michiel has been giving workshops all over Europe. He has a comfortable, humurous and relaxed way of teaching, and coupled with clear teaching methods, everybody seems to learn a great deal. During his workshops Michiel makes use of a combination of technique, rhythm and composition. So at the end you will have a good idea of how to construct your own didgeridoo songs, and to blend freshly thought techniques in to your own style of playing!
